Enrichment Program

Our enrichment program for Wilbur Avenue Elementary families offers a dynamic and engaging selection of classes designed to foster creativity, build essential life skills, and ensure every child has a blast. Students can dive into the world of science with our Chemistry class, learn to play beautiful music in Piano lessons, or express themselves through Art and Sewing. Our Group Voice class helps students find their voice, while Cupcake Wars adds a dash of fun to the mix. For those interested in exploring nature, Marine Biology opens up the wonders of the ocean, and for active minds and bodies, Soccer, LEGO building, and Chess offer exciting challenges. Each class is crafted to promote communication, collaboration, and critical thinking in a fun and supportive environment. Join PEAK for an enriching after-school experience where your child can explore new interests and thrive!

Have you ever dreamed of becoming an astronaut? Get ready to journey beyond Earth and explore the moon, planets, and sparkling stars as you uncover the mysteries of the solar system. You’ll discover how astronauts live, eat, and work aboard spacecraft, and even learn how powerful rockets blast into orbit. In each session, students are introduced to a variety of musical instruments, including piano, violin, cello, recorder, ukulele, guitar, xylophone, percussion, and more. Depending on the instrument, students may either share or have their own for the duration of the class. This program is ideal for children who wish to explore different instruments and discover their musical interests.

Learn how to sew hand and embroider with Miss Shannon's Sewing. First project teaches how to sew on a button. Following projects teach all other skills and stitches. Get ready for a hands-on, super fun decorating experience! In this class, you’ll learn step-by-step how to turn ordinary cupcakes into extraordinary creations. Make cupcakes that look like hot dogs, hamburgers, and even fish! 🧁✨
We’ll skip the baking and jump straight into the best part—decorating. Bring your imagination, add your own creative twist, and design cupcakes that are almost too cool to eat!

Ukulele and guitar are cheerful, versatile, and beginner-friendly instruments that open the door to a lifetime of music. In our lessons, students learn proper technique, strumming patterns, chord progressions, and how to play songs from their very first class. Along the way, they’ll develop rhythm, coordination, and confidence while exploring a variety of musical styles. Whether aiming to perform or simply enjoy making music, ukulele and guitar offer a rewarding and enjoyable starting point for any musical journey. In half of the classes we use guitar and the other half ukulele.

Island Survival Engineering Challenge!
You’ve just landed on a deserted island, and survival depends on your creativity and problem-solving skills. We are devoted to promoting the merits of chess among children by using stories, dances, and catchy songs to make the game of chess exciting and easy to understand. Children participating in our program: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Have better concentration and mental discipline; Gain confidence and have lots of FUN!!! All students in our chess club receive an exclusive Academic Chess workbook, prizes for good sportsmanship and participate in the “BIG TOURNAMENT” on the last day where all kids take home a prize!
