At PEAK, we provide a comprehensive childcare service that extends until 6:00 PM on every school day. To enroll your child, please complete the registration packet linked below and send it to peakenrichment@gmail.com. Deadline for registration: 8/31/2024.
Enrichment Program
Our Enrichment Program at Colfax Charter Elementary offers an exciting and well-rounded selection of classes that run five days a week, designed to inspire and prepare students for a bright future. From hands-on activities like LEGO engineering and ceramics to thought-provoking sessions in marine biology and chemistry, our program nurtures creativity, dexterity, and a love for learning. Each class is thoughtfully crafted to engage students in STEM, art, and critical thinking, while also building essential life skills like communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Whether they’re strategizing in chess, exploring the wonders of the ocean, or competing in a fun “Cupcake Wars” challenge, students will thrive in a safe, positive, and fun environment that encourages growth and discovery. Join us for an enriching after-school experience that equips your child with the tools they need to succeed!

We are devoted to promoting the merits of chess among children by using stories, dances, and catchy songs to make the game of chess exciting and easy to understand. Children participating in our program: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Have better concentration and mental discipline; Gain confidence and have lots of FUN!!! All students in our chess club receive an exclusive Academic Chess workbook, prizes for good sportsmanship and participate in the “BIG TOURNAMENT” on the last day where all kids take home a prize! In this exciting hands-on science class, students will explore major scientific concepts like energy, electricity, light, gravity, motion, friction, magnetism, and simple machines through the construction of a variety of fun toys. Each session offers a unique opportunity for students to build their own science toys, which they will take home after each class. This engaging, interactive experience is perfect for sparking curiosity and fostering a deeper understanding of the scientific principles that shape our world!

Learn how to hand sew and embroider with Miss Shannon’s Sewing. First project, a pencil case teaches how to sew on a button. Each project teaches a new skill. Big project is a super cute raccoon. Sewing kit, materials and supplies included.

Then, you'll put your creativity and skills to work, building everything from a custom space alien to a luxury sports car—whatever you can dream up! As a LEGO designer, you’ll get to bring your ideas to life and take your unique creations home. Get ready to explore, create, and play in a world where the only limit is your imagination!

Get ready for a hands-on, gross-out adventure where kids will create fake blisters, cuts, wounds, blood, eyeballs, and even brains! They’ll explore the world of biology by simulating tooth decay, testing for saliva digestion, and making an earwax detector. While it may sound disgusting, it’s packed with fascinating science! Kids will discover how blisters protect their skin, how mucus keeps germs at bay, and much more. Through fun and educational experiments, they'll learn the science behind the body’s ickiest functions in a memorable (and messy) way.

It is time to get messy! Miss Samantha's ceramic class is the place to create clay masterpieces that will last a lifetime. The Thursday class is for students’ grades 3rd - 5th where they will learn the process of working with clay. Each student will sculpt, glaze, and bring home several one of a kind works of art. Students will get to make delicious parfaits and even create donuts that look like snowmen.
