At PEAK, we provide a comprehensive childcare service that extends until 6:00 PM on every school day. To enroll your child, please complete the registration packet linked below and send it to peakenrichment@gmail.com. Deadline for registration: 8/31/2024.

Enrichment Program

Our Enrichment Program at Colfax Charter Elementary offers an exciting and well-rounded selection of classes that run five days a week, designed to inspire and prepare students for a bright future. From hands-on activities like LEGO engineering and ceramics to thought-provoking sessions in marine biology and chemistry, our program nurtures creativity, dexterity, and a love for learning. Each class is thoughtfully crafted to engage students in STEM, art, and critical thinking, while also building essential life skills like communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Whether they’re strategizing in chess, exploring the wonders of the ocean, or competing in a fun “Cupcake Wars” challenge, students will thrive in a safe, positive, and fun environment that encourages growth and discovery. We are devoted to promoting the merits of chess among children by using stories, dances, and catchy songs to make the game of chess exciting and easy to understand. Children participating in our program: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills; Have better concentration and mental discipline; Gain confidence and have lots of FUN!!! All students in our chess club receive an exclusive Academic Chess workbook, prizes for good sportsmanship and participate in the “BIG TOURNAMENT” on the last day where all kids take home a prize! Join us for an exciting hands-on adventure in engineering and design! Young builders will explore the possibilities of balance, height, and structure using binary clips, craft sticks, cups, blocks, and clothespins. Through creative challenges, they’ll experiment with shapes, stability, and innovation—can you construct the tallest tower, a perfectly balanced bridge, or a triangular masterpiece? Push your imagination further by designing your own roller coaster or waterslide! This engaging class encourages problem-solving, creativity, and a love for engineering through fun, interactive projects.

Did you know there are over a million different kinds of insects? Get ready for a hands-on, creepy-crawly adventure as we explore the world of bugs! Students will embark on exciting bug hunts and discover fascinating facts about worms, ladybugs, grasshoppers and crickets. Can you guess which of these—spiders, crickets, or ladybugs—are true insects? Put your own athletic abilities to the test and see how you measure up to a cricket’s super skills! Plus, meet our live insect family and, if you're brave enough, even hold one!

It is time to get messy! Miss Samantha's ceramic class is the place to create clay masterpieces that will last a lifetime. The Thursday class is for students’ grades 3rd - 5th where they will learn the process of working with clay. Each student will sculpt, glaze, and bring home several one of a kind works of art. Each student will learn a variety of ceramic techniques while adding their own personal creative touch to each piece. Let’s get muddy and have some fun! Questions: samantha.reffett.33@gmail.com

This exciting 8-week program teaches kids the fundamentals of starting and running a business through hands-on activities, DIY projects, interactive games, fun prizes, and so much more. Each student will receive a journal to document their journey, capturing their growth and creative ideas. When students are ready, they are encouraged to join our community events, where they can sell and promote their products, gaining real-world experience and building confidence.
